Wide open spaces are not the first thing you think about when you think about homes in Singapore - but the same serenity and calm that a space like that brings is possible even in an HDB flat. We brought this concept to a particular 5 Bedroom HDB project where we created a beautiful open kitchen that maximized preparation space. The color scheme of ivory white and calming gray helps to stretch the horizon of the kitchen adding light to an already airy and spacious place.

1. Open Kitchen
They say the kitchen is the hub of a home and these days, many people opt to turn their enclosed kitchen into a part of the living space. This enables families to come together and enlarges the living room by ridding of walls that can make a home feel smaller. Our clients loved the idea of the open concept kitchen with a seated island that doubled as storage space and a space for a quick bite.

This is the after look of the kitchen viewing from the living/dining area into the kitchen. Noticed that the Kitchen is now integrated harmoniously with the living space making the whole look grand and open. For such a layout, a suction hood with high performance is very critical especially if you cook everyday.
2. Maximize preparation space
Kitchens can be small without proper space to prepare meals. Opening up the kitchen helps to create and maximize preparation space so that you can enjoy the process of cooking with multiple plates of ingredients all within arms reach!

3. Harmonious Touches
From the marble backsplash, to the white and gray color scheme, to even the white brick corners - the open concept kitchen is made warm again through these unique harmonious touches that make a home unique and practical.
